ANAHEIM, CA- Round five of the 2012 MX Simulator MotoOption Supercross Season presented by Vurbmoto invaded Angel Stadium last night. The Supercross Lites West class saw the fourth different winner in five rounds while the Supercross class saw some intense battling all of the way through the top-10 and beyond.

Breast Cancer awareness was the theme as several of the teams ran custom designed pink accented bikes and gear to show their support.

ShackAttack (1) and AEO's Robert196 (31) had the pink rocking for Breast Cancer Awareness night in A2.

The night started rough for Flux’s Kaio Miranda as the Yamaha rider, who was sitting second in Lites West points coming in, did not take part in the heat races and was forced to qualify for the main through the LCQ.

As the gate dropped in the Lites main, dxb riders ddmx and Stocksy were side by side for the Motosport Holeshot and Stocksy quickly found himself out front while the two riders in front of him in the points standings were deeper in the pack.

“I got a good start,” said Stocksy. “Made a little mistake and just went down-hill from there.”

Stocksy handed the lead over to Dudu about a third of the way into the main and Dudu began checking out. Meanwhile, Lites West points leader MotoOption/RaceTech Yamaha’s Mikey had worked his way forward and moved into second while Kaio Miranda was around mid pack as the race reached its halfway point.

Mikey threw down fastest lap of the race with a 1:02.078 on lap 9 but moments later washed out in a corner, letting ddmx and Stocksy back by.

“I was only a few seconds from 1st and ran the fastest lap of the race to catch him but then made a few rookie mistakes,” said Mikey.

The three riders then ran into heavy traffic which hampered Stocksy a bit and Mikey was able to get back by. Motosport Honda’s Fjeldberg also got by Stocksy and moved up into fourth.

Further back, Vanderhoof, also known as jlv, had made his first main event of the year and was holding his own on his 125 cruising in 17th.

“Any time I make the main and beat someone it’s a good result for me!” said MX Simulator creator Vanderhoof.

Up front, there was no stopping Dudu as the #22 Privateer Honda rider grabbed his first win of the year moving into fourth in the points standings. Ddmx came across in second with Mikey, Fjeldberg, and Stocksy rounded out the top five.

“Wish I could have got Dudu for first but he was on fire tonight,” said dxb Honda’s ddmx.

Mikey maintained his points lead as he now holds a 13 point gap over Stocksy as the series heads to San Diego.

Mikey continues to lead the Lites West points as the "east coast break" approaches.

“Hopefully I can extend it a few more points so I don’t have to worry about it until we get to Seattle and have some fun racing the 450 in the premier class for the East coast rounds,” Mikey said.

The attention was then turned to the 450 class to see if anyone could separate from the pack and become the dominant rider. Barry Motorsports’ Jones did not race for the second week in a row and continues to fall down the points standings. But as the gate dropped, another Honda team had their starts dialled as Motosport Honda’s Juan coincidentally enough came out with the Motosport Holeshot.

Juan’s teammate Brina quickly took the lead away while points leader Jeremy was in third and it was Motosport one, two, three after the first lap. Jeremy moved around Juan and he and Brina began to take off together at the front.

“It was great and super fun! I felt a lot of pressure behind me, but then once I found out it was my teammate Jeremy I knew I could relax,” said Brina.

Race Factory’s Markham ran third, with Limited Decal’s Hegge behind him.

“It was really hard to make up any time on the guys in front of you, so you had to kind of wait for a mistake by the guys ahead and steal the position away,” said Hegge.

Further back, two-time defending champion MotoOption/RaceTech Yamaha’s ShackAttack was slowly working his way towards the front along with Barry Motorsports’ Tysen. A freight train of riders from third to about 11th quickly started hitting lapped riders.

“I had a rough start but managed to work my way through the pack,” said MotoOption/RaceTech Yamaha’s PINNEDTOWIN.

Also a part of this group was System Decal’s Siemenlinko and Barry Motorsports’ Taylor. The riders swapped positions several times with many battles going all the way until the finish of the race.

Near the end, Brina and Jeremy swapped the lead a few times but it was Jeremy who came out on top to take his second win of the season and extend his points lead.

“I am extremely happy with my result. I would of liked to have more of a lead but I would take a first any day,” said Jeremy.

Jeremy showed why he has those red plates with his second win of the season in Anaheim.

Brina followed her teammate home for a solid second while Mittocs, Markham and Hegge rounded out the top 5.

“Considering that it is my first podium of the season, I am actually very happy with how I rode tonight,” said MotoOption/RaceTech Yamaha’s Mittocs.

As the series heads to my hometown of San Diego, Jeremy holds an 11 point lead over Siemenlinko.

The track was very well received by most while some people thought the layout was not the best. All in all, Anaheim produced some good racing and things are starting to get very interesting in the 2012 MX Simulator MotoOption Supercross Series presented by Vurbmoto. See you all in San Diego.
